One of Rob’s favorite process steps when he’s consulting with a client is to draw pictures.
Draw pictures?
Yes, draw pictures! He leads his team to consider the dimensions of an issue, examine the data and discuss the challenge. Then, they draw pictures to help them reveal the details of the problem.
He finds when you make a problem visual, it’s easier to develop a descriptive narrative. It draws people in and generates discussion. Solution ideas emerge organically. There’s more alignment around next steps with less stress and handwringing.
Rob has years of management consulting experience in multiple industry sectors, and it’s helped him build a solid array of practical business skills and abilities.
He earned his BS degree in Business Administration from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Rob also has an MS degree in Labor & Industrial Relations from the same university. He also has his Prosci Change Management Professional (CMP) certification.
Rob’s business philosophy is direct and to the point: treat others as you would want to be treated and don’t be a jerk. I think almost everyone would agree with him.
Away from work, Rob spends most of his time with his wife and two kids and following along with their activities. And when he’s not doing that, he loves live music.
