Tim Podolske has built a career around making complex ideas accessible and finding ways to improve systems. A lifelong learner, he earned dual bachelor’s degrees in journalism and history from UW-Madison and, years later, decided to return to school to complete an associate’s degree in computer science and Programming Analysis at MATC. This background allows him to blend analytical thinking with a deep understanding of communication, which he uses to bridge gaps in technical and team environments.
Colleagues often praise Tim for his communication style and teaching ability. He has a knack for transforming highly technical concepts into language that can be easily understood and simplifies processes to eliminate waste. His passion for the Agile mindset brings a fresh approach to team learning, engaging people in ways that keep energy high and focus on outcomes.
Tim believes that we should “leave things better than when we found them,” and he always looks for ways to improve. He also lives by his favorite question: “What have you learned from this?” It’s a reminder to step back, reflect, and take the emotion out of tough situations by viewing them as opportunities for growth. As a personal inspiration, he turns to George Harrison’s words, “Try to realize it’s all within yourself, no one else can make you change.” This serves as a reminder that while challenges are inevitable, keeping an open mind and believing in oneself can make anything achievable.
Away from work, Tim enjoys culture, community, and adventure. He collects vinyl records, watches film noir movies, and boats with family and friends. He also loves to make people laugh, challenge conventional wisdom, solve puzzles, answer trivia, and find hidden gems off the beaten path.
